Senior / Solo Pastor
The ACB congregation is an international, ecumenical church in Berlin-Schoeneberg with members from over 25 nations, known for its inclusive and diverse community. ACB owns and utilizes a historic cathedral. The church is located near the city center and is easily accessible by public transportation. For over 40 years, the congregation’s pastor has been called from the ELCA, and recently it was decided to also consider pastors from other churches in full communion with the ELCA. ACB is an independent, non-profit church, recognized by the German Protestant Church (EKD), but organizationally autonomous.
A future long-term pastor of the ACB congregation will exhibit a high level of integrity, honesty, discretion, and transparency. They swill have a strong Christian faith and be committed to the mission of the church, demonstrating openness to various expressions of Christian faith and respect for people of other faiths. The pastor must respect the beliefs, values, and traditional customs of the congregation and be willing to work within the framework of the German legal system and local regulations. It is important that they treat all people justly and exemplify an unconditional, non-judgmental attitude towards people of all races, genders, and sexual orientations. Additionally, they should be adaptable and flexible, possess and demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills, constructive conflict resolution strategies, have good physical and emotional health, as well as a sense of humor.
