Focus of this committee: Plan and organize the worship and music experiences for the congregation. Teach worship assistants about how to carry out their services.

Areas of this committee include:

  • oversee the selection of music and liturgy for worship
  • include paid music staff at meetings
  • coordinate choir participation in worship
  • make certain there are flowers for the altar each week
  • organize worship assistants - coordinator, acolytes, lector/prayer leader, communion preparation and servers, greeters/ushers, children’s sermon
  • provide guidelines for the various worship assistants and hold training sessions
  • communicate with altar guild as to needs for the different seasons of the church year and discuss with them their responsibilities - (Christ candle, altar candles, etc.) altar paraments, banners
  • find ways to advertise the services and musical offerings to church members and the community at large
